POWER STRUGGLE

A traveled person is said to be rich with wisdom, and this is proven true with Power Struggle’s music. Known to friends and family as Nomi, Power Struggle’s story has traveled from Minnesota, to New York, the Bay Area and the Philippines, building communities along the way. From his early days touring as part of the legendary Twin Cities group, Oddjobs, to his strong musical catalog as Power Struggle, Nomi’s experience as an emcee is solid. Nomi’s music reflects the work he’s put into his passion off the microphone -- organizing for migrant and workers rights. Balancing the grind of community organizing with being a great Dad is one that Nomi handles with grace, and his music carries that same grace over the speakers. His debut Beatrock Music album, “Remittances” remains a fan favorite, with anthemic songs like, “Sunshine” and “Three Basic Problems” leading the charge. Power Struggle’s follow up to 2016’s “This Mic Kills Fascists” is slated for a 2019 drop on Beatrock Music. If you ever see his name on a bill, be sure to carve out the time to catch him live… You won’t regret it.
